For the second time in less than a year, our government has launched a war with the Iranian regime, with no regard for the safety of its most vulnerable citizens.
In the past few days, millions of Jewish and Palestinian citizens have been running to shelters multiple times a day. What many don’t know is that tens of thousands of Bedouin-Palestinian citizens in the Negev/Naqab have no place to hide. In recent days, hundreds of families have been forced to sleep under bridges and next to railroad tracks. The lack of bomb shelters in these communities is the result of years of government neglect and racist policies that have systematically denied Bedouin citizens recognition, infrastructure, and equal access to safety.
Every night, families go to sleep without shelter, with nowhere to run when the sirens sound. That’s why we must act now. We are petitioning the government to take responsibility and ensure protection for these communities – because every community deserves safety.
Last year, we raised over $200,000 to install bomb shelters in 20 communities in southern Israel.
Now we’re mobilizing again to raise money and to install emergency shelters in as many communities as possible – because our extremist government still hasn’t acted to protect its citizens.
Donate now to help us secure additional standard bomb shelters and protect society’s most vulnerable.
Here are the details: Tens of thousands of Bedouins live in the Negev in villages and communities that are not officially recognized or fully developed. None of them – without exception – had access to basic shelter before this campaign. Not from missiles, and not from the blast waves. The cost of a basic bomb shelter, which can save lives, is around 60,000 shekels (about $16,000). Every donation helps us buy more shelters and place them in Bedouin villages and communities.
The donations will be used to purchase and place mobile bomb shelters in unprotected towns and villages in the Negev/Naqab, and to fight against discriminatory government policies
