This is not a game of hide and seek — it’s Bedouin children hiding under a tractor plow from rocket fire, because they have no bomb shelter to run to.

We’ve all seen in recent days the devastating damage caused by missiles from Iran. We all watched with fear as Soroka Hospital was hit. But what many don’t know is that tens of thousands of Bedouin residents in the Negev have no basic protection and are completely exposed to these attacks.

In recent days, hundreds of families have been forced to sleep under bridges and next to railroad tracks. That’s why we’re launching an urgent and vital campaign to purchase standard bomb shelters for Bedouin villages in the Negev. This is a critical moment calling for solidarity: every donation helps us move closer to our goal—protecting people, right here and right now.

The lack of bomb shelters in these communities is not a natural disaster—it’s the result of years of government neglect and racist policies that have systematically denied Bedouin citizens equal access to safety and infrastructure.

We are petitioning the government to take responsibility and ensure protection for these communities—because every community deserves security. But they cannot wait. Every night, families go to sleep without shelter, with nowhere to run when the sirens sound. That’s why we must act now.

Here are the details: Tens of thousands of Bedouins live in the Negev in villages and communities that are not officially recognized or fully developed. None of them—without exception—have access to basic shelter. Not from missiles, and not from the blast waves. The cost of a basic bomb shelter, which can save lives, is around 60,000 shekels (about $16,000). Every donation helps us buy more shelters and place them in Bedouin villages and communities throughout the Negev.

The donations will be used to purchase and place mobile bomb shelters in unprotected towns and villages in the Negev, and to fight against discriminatory government policies.
