Time and time again, we’ve been told it’s just impossible, but it's not.
We’ve got proof.
Even through the COVID-19 lockdowns we doubled down and thrived.
We dreamed.
We grew.
We inspired.
Our chance of making it to the big leagues is behind us.
But, our love for teaching the great game, baseball, flows through our veins.
We, HaTzofnim - Northern Israeli Baseball - know that baseball has a future in Israel.
Our team of coaches is not just experienced and dedicated to make it happen,
we’re absolutely insane.
Or as our Jewish moms tell us,
“You’re meshugana! Just get a job in high-tech!”
Well,
Thanks mom.
But no thanks. Lol
You see, We’re a passionate bunch.
Passionate about passion.
Passionate about ground ball drills.
Passionate about that big smile on a kids face,
When they catch a fly ball for the first time.
Passionate about Israel,
and building a better Nation.
Tikkun Olam.
We are passionate about Israeli youth baseball.
That\'s why we’re succeeding.
The greatest baseball story of our time is unfolding now,
in the agricultural valleys of Northern Israel.
Nowhere else in the world are kids getting together,
And being introduced for the first time to a glove and a ball,
and then roughing out sandlot scrimmages on makeshift diamonds.
In 100 degree heat.
This is Israel, baby.
The stars of this story are the young girls and boys.
New ballplayers.
Our future and hope for a good day today,
A better tomorrow.
Jews, Muslims, Christians, Druze.
Ballplayers.
City kids, kibbutzniks, and small town kids.
Baseball knows no boundaries.
We the coaches, well, our job is to show them the way.
Our responsibility is to coach
not only the fundamentals of the game,
but also to instill important life lessons and values that the game teaches
and has passed down to each generation:
Community.
Teamwork.
Success and failure.
Friendship.
Competition.
Leadership.
Earned Opportunities.
Being a kid.
And, playing.
Playing ball.
We have another huge responsibility, though.
To make it happen.
Ya know, that\'s really on us.
See, there is not a single shop in Israel to buy a baseball.
Let alone a set of bases, a bat, or catcher\'s gear.
Luxuries like a parent volunteer who can come out and lend a hand during practice
do not exist.
No one to load balls onto a tee, or help out and pitch a scrimmage.
Baseball is foreign here.
Fields?
Where can you play ball?
For now, we’ll keep making do on makeshift diamonds.
We believe in continuing our growth grassroots style.
Bottom - up.
Remember, we’re Israeli,
We know grit,
and can make something exceptional out of nothing.
Seriously, first we need to educate an army of ballplayers.
Then we’ll talk diamonds and dugouts.
We need your help.
It’s the only way we can truly make Northern Israeli Baseball happen.
Today’s generation of youth players will be our future coaches.
More importantly they’ll be tomorrow\'s teachers and leaders.
We thank you for your donation, toda raba!
We’re excited that you are helping author this great baseball story.
“this too is true: stories can save us.”
