My name is Ori Manor, and I've been a dancer ever since I was 9 years old. This year I'm turning 18 and graduating at "Reut" school of arts in Haifa, Israel.

Throughout my dancing years I attended many extra curricular classes in Israel and abroad and won prizes and scholarships that helped me to develop as a dancer. In the last summer I decided to apply for the summer intensive program at Juilliard, NY and gladly got accepted. I made all the arrangements for a trip to New York, however due to the COVID crisis the program got cancelled. Eventually the classes were transferred via ZOOM. Naturally - I attended, and these classes have been a very intensifying experience for me, so much that I decided to try and apply for a full 4 year degree program at Juilliard. To make a long story short, after quite an excruciating process that took a few months, I received a positive reply ! 

Considering that every year only 24 dancers (out of hundreds or maybe thousands that apply) pass the process with success - this reply is a huge accomplishment for me, and a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Naturally I was very thrilled and excited, however along with the reply came also the financial numbers, which quickly made me and my family realize that I will not be able to fulfill my goal without a substantial financial aid from every available source. 

For me - dancing is the essence of life. After school hours I also attend dance classes at a proffessinal studio close to school so in total I dance around 8 hours a day in average. My school is located far from home (I live in the Galilee of Israel) so I get up very early every morning and arrive home late every night. I sacrifice a lot, undoubtedly much more than many other boys at my age would, but I do it with joy knowing that dance is giving me everything I need. I honestly believe that I have the ability to become a world class dancer, but for that purpose I need to study from the best, I need the proffessional level that exists in a place like Juilliard.
