The Israeli team for the IOL
The International Linguistics Olympiad, held annually since 2003, will take place this July in Bansko, Bulgaria, marking its 20th anniversary.
Over 50 teams from around the globe are already participating in the IOL, and we want Israel to join them. This year, 2023, Israel will be represented at the IOL by a team of 4 high school students that excel in linguistic problems solving.
Our team is:
- Mariia Gritsun, 10-th grade student at Shimon Peres High Tech and Arts High School (Shevach Moffet), Tel Aviv-Yafo
- Mikhail Iomdin, 10-th grade student at Shimon Peres High Tech and Arts High School (Shevach Moffet), Rishon LeZion
- Roman Roginskii, 10-th grade student at Shimon Peres High Tech and Arts High School (Shevach Moffet), Holon
- Lev Ianushevich, 10-th grade student at ORT Psagot, Karmiel
who passed the selection test to represent Israel in the Olympiad.
All of the four participants turned out to be new immigrants to Israel (olim hadashim). Prior to the event, the team will be training at the Summer Linguistics School in Estonia.
We are reaching out for your support to help cover the registration fees and travel expenses for both events, as well as team T-Shirts with official symbols representing Israel.
