As the killing, starvation, and displacement in Gaza continues, Palestinians in the West Bank and East Jerusalem are also at increased risk of violence – both from settlers and directly from Israeli authorities. Violence in these areas has escalated to unprecedented levels, with settler attacks and police and military silence creating an environment of fear and helplessness among Palestinians.

As a grassroots movement of Jews and Palestinians, our response to this intolerable situation is the Humanitarian Guard, a protective presence initiative that works to protect Palestinians from settler attacks in Jerusalem and the West Bank, in addition to protecting aid convoys for Gaza from settler destruction and looting.

Palestinian lives are in danger, and our far-right government and its allies continue to promote hate, violence, and endless bloodshed across our homeland. The Humanitarian Guard not only protects vulnerable communities but also sends a powerful message: Jewish and Palestinian citizens can unite to resist extremism and uphold our shared humanity.

Expanding this initiative is essential for preventing more violence and strengthening Jewish-Palestinian partnership in our society.
