Please help us fund this wonderful workshop to suport the displaced children after the october 7th atrocities

"\sweet day"is a chocolate workshop that lasts over nearly two hours, in which children get to know a wonderful fruit, the chocolate fruit: cacao. They see, touch, smell, and taste the products from it, creating the most delicious chocolate in the world: self-made chocolate. Once they have their confections, they create a self-decorated box to take their beautiful and delicious chocolates with them.

To finish, the children receive, with great excitement, a beautiful little surprise: a chocolate house. They decorate the house and take it with them in the hope that soon they will have a sweet and real home to return to.

 The funds are used to finance the equipment and materials needed for the activity. Volunteers reach the evacuees with everything that is needed to complete the project. During the 2 first weeks, we already meted displaced children from age 4 to  18.     

. For maximum suitability for all children, only kosher-pareve materials without allergens are used.

My name is Deivos Ben Aviv, for about 30 years, I worked at "Deivos Children and Youth Workshops", taught cinema in high schools and edited videos. In 2010, due to a series of brain hemorrhages, I remained paralyzed on the left half of my body, I stopped all the occupations I had until then and concentrated on my rehabilitation. After October 7th I was looking for how to help with something and suddenly, I realized that I could renew one of the workshops I developed years ago and make children happy. It was at the beginning of November 2023, and on December 6, 2023 I conducted the first workshop for evacuee children in Kfar Saba. Until today, I managed to be in many places as you can see in the table: "The list of places where I held chocolate workshops "Sweet Day"" and I had the privilege of making many children, adults and families of evacuees happy. In most places I conducted one workshop, in some more, such as at the summer camp at Cinema City Gillot, where I conducted 3 workshops in one day, or at Sade Eliezer, where I conducted a workshop in each of the two kindergartens. In total, to date, I conducted about 80 workshops. The funding for the workshops and the trips for them was received from the previous funding campaign and a donation of K.K.L..

The average  cost of the materials for each workshop is 450 NIS, not including the time of preparation, publication, coordination, the time of the workshop and travel time, all of which I have done completely voluntarily until today. The average time spent in each workshop is 8 hours and 35 minutes.

The cost of traveling  is the most significant item of all expenses. Due to my disability, I cannot drive so I get to all the workshops in taxis. The price of the taxi ride is the main expense. From each group of evacuees, I ask to check the possibility that they will take care of thetransportation cost, I clearly  emphasize that this is not a condition for holding the workshop. In very few cases, they were able to help with this. Examples of the transportation prices I paid from Kfar Saba:

To the hotels in the Dead Sea and Eilat, I didn't get because the high travel cost.

I do everything myself, from "A" to "Z". Keeps Excel lists of all expenses, photocopies of all receipts and of course publishes, coordinate, and travels to workshops.

Now that the main fighting has moved to the north and it is not possible (for now) to reach evacuees in the northern settlements, I will look for evacuees in southern settlements including the Dead Sea. The costs of traveling to the south are higher than to the north. I have a list of groups waiting for a workshop in hotels in the Dead Sea.

After I've been volunteering in workshops for 10 months, I thought about starting to pay me for my time (unfortunately, I can't give up any income at all), but due to the recent changes and the need to move to activities in the south, it seems that I won't succeed, and I will continue to volunteer. Hoping that all the evacuees will return to their homes soon.

The 80,000 NIS that I am asking to collect, in my estimation, will be enough for about 40 workshops for evacuee children in the southern region. This is according to the calculation of the starting price of a trip of 1600 NIS and 450 NIS for materials. On such expensive trips, I should try to hold 2 workshops on each trip. I usually avoid it because of my physical difficulty (caused by tmy disability), but this way I can reach more children! And besides, what is my physical difficulty next to the difficulties that the evacuees have been going through for a year?
