We are the Israeli National Netball Team, a women’s team playing a fast-paced sport similar to basketball, focused on precision, teamwork, and unique rules. In just two weeks, we are scheduled to represent Israel at the European Open Championship in Wales, UK.
Since our participation was announced, we have received hundreds of hate messages, threats, and incitement, including calls to boycott the tournament, attempts to have us removed, and announcements of planned protests outside the venue.
If we back down, they win.
To compete safely, we now require 24/7 security. The cost: around $15,000, a sum we simply cannot cover alone. Netball is not yet officially recognized as a sport in Israel, which means we receive no state funding.
This is the reality:
If we raise the necessary funds, we can go, and proudly represent Israel.
If not, we’ll be forced to withdraw, and surrender the stage to those who wish to silence us.
We’re reaching out to you, not only for ourselves, but for everyone who believes that Israeli women athletes deserve the right to stand on the court with pride and safety, carrying the flag of their country.
Every contribution brings us closer to the game, and pushes hate further away.
With heartfelt thanks,
The Israeli Netball NationalTeam 🇮🇱
