With the help of Leket Israel, our community will donate the funds for distribution of nutritious cooked meals to those in need on Purim day.
Leket Israel, the National Food Bank, is Israel’s leading food rescue organization, dedicated to reducing food waste and fighting food insecurity. In 2024, Leket rescued 31,400 tons of fresh agricultural produce and 2.084 million meals from hotels, corporate cafeterias, and IDF bases. This food was distributed through 300 nonprofit partners, reaching 415,000 people in need every week.
Following the Swords of Iron War, the demand for food rescue has surged. Leket has expanded its efforts to support displaced families, frontline communities, and those facing economic hardship. In addition, Leket has prioritized strengthening Israeli agriculture by providing grants, low-interest loans, and mobilizing 100,000 volunteers to assist farmers struggling with a shortage of fieldhands.
