Israeli cities today are built tall, fast, and far from the human-being. Towers instead of streets, highways instead of neighborhoods. But there is another way, and it is not foreign to us: it is written in our sources, built into our old cities, and proven in the best cities in the world.
Michya — The Institute for Hebrew Urbanism exists to return human-scale building to the center of Israeli discourse: research, education, and public activity for cities that are dense but humane, walkable, beautiful — and Israeli.
What we will do in Year One:
- 🟡 12 events across Israel — lectures, walking tours, and open public gatherings
- 🔵 A professional video series — 20 videos bringing these ideas to hundreds of thousands of viewers
- 🟢 Full-time operation — a full-time staff dedicating all their time to the mission
Campaign milestones:
- ₪75,000 — a full year of events, funded
- ₪150,000 — the video series launches
- ₪300,000 — Michya goes full-time
Full transparency: we publish where every shekel goes — before anyone asks. Our website hosts a public tracker of every expense: the events we held, the videos we produced, and the costs behind them.
