About The Mezuzah Project

There are tens of thousands of displaced Israelis. Many are living in hotels, others housed with friends, acquaintances, or even complete strangers. The fortunate, while dealing with the trauma of death and destruction, will return to livable homes; the unfortunate will return to find their former homes destroyed and uninhabitable.

While there are no words, or actions that can provide proper relief to those who had to flee their homes, the mezuzah project aims to provide succor, and a symbolic first step towards rebuilding by gifting beautiful handmade mezuzah covers and a klaf to the displaced. It may be months or even years until the displaced will be home. Please consider purchasing a mezuzah with a klaf for our displaced brothers and sisters, a gift to allow them feel a sense of home, and as a first step towards their returning back home.

Uniquely, many of the the klafs are sourced from Sofrim who are also reservist soldiers, adding a profound layer of meaning to each piece. This initiative not only aids those displaced, but also honors these brave individuals who serve and protect our homeland, embodying a cycle of support that strengthens our community.

The Mezuzah project is a joint project between needle pointers in Raanana, Jerusalem, Efrat, Teaneck, West Hempstead, Boynton Beach, Hollywood (FL), Los Angeles, Kew Garden Hills, Jamaica Estates, Long Island, and Brooklyn. A huge thank you to Gone Stitching of Bergenfield, NJ for their inspiration and generous donation. Thank you to Martine Shenker, Why Knot Needlepoint, and Hillside Needle Arts.

Your donation will go towards the cost of purchasing a high quality klaf (parchment). Each Klaf is $72. Our goal is to raise $144,000 to be able to create and gift 2,000 mezuzot.

Thanks for your generosity,

Worldwide Needlepointers
