On Oct 7, more Jews were murdered than on any other single day since the Holocaust. Under a wave of rocket fire, terrorists of Hamas and Islamic Jihad broke through Israel's security border, massacring & raping soldiers and civilians in the nearby kibbutzim, towns, army bases, and at the music festival for young people. They committed attrocities, the scale of which we are only still learning. 

Over 240 of our people - Jews, Muslims, Beduins, and international citizens have been kidnapped. Their ages range from 9 month old babies, to Holocaust survivors. Peace activists, pregnant women, and the disabled.

Some families are still waiting to find out if their loved ones are dead or kidnapped, and in the meantime, wondering which option would break their heart less - a dilemma no one ever thought they would have to consider. In other cases, there is no one to wait to find out - as entire families were massacred together, leaving no one. 

While the rest of Israel still grieves the trauma of what happened, trying to identify bodies still too burnt and mutilated to possibly ever know who they belong to, and still under daily rocket fire, Israel has gone to war. Hundreds of thousands of us have been called up for reserve service, and have now been away from our homes, families and pets, and jobs, for over a month. 

Since October 8, Hezbollah has decided to join their Hamas allies, and Hezbollah has been firing many mortars and anti-tank missiles across the border, already killing Israeli soldiers and civilians. 

As a result of all of these events, Israel currently has over 250,000 displaced people, who have been evacuated from their homes due to the war - homes both in the south, near the Gaza Strip, and in the north, near the Lebanon border.

While many IDF brigades have entered Gaza to eradicate Hamas, many more are on the Lebanon border, to face Hezbollah as it continues to increase the levels of its attacks and threats against Israel. The citizens in the north also fear that Hezbollah will try to replicate in the north, the atrocities that Hamas achieved in the south, and rely on the IDF to stand between them and Hezbollah. 

We are combat soldiers who served in the Golani Brigade during our regular service, and are now in the Carmeli Brigade for reserve service. We have been stationed on the front line of the Lebanon border since being called up for this war, and are actively engaging with the Hezbollah threat. 

We all know that we are in for a long war, and as we strive to protect the people of Israel, we are looking for donations, so that we can upgrade our gear, to be as best equipped as possible.
