Our home, kibbutz Gazit, in Jezreel Valley, in northern Israel.
The horror scene that unfolded in the early hours of October 7th brought with it new needs to protect and guard the kibbutz. These needs are for our 800 members and for the 300 people we are now hosting, who had been evacuated from north and south.
We are a strong community, but an isolated one. As such, we must be able to defend ourselves and care for ourselves independently.
We therefore are turning to you to help us with:
1. Emergency squad: Purchasing protective gear (ceramic vests, headlamps, bulletproof vests, etc.)
Estimated cost: NIS 50,000
2. Operation room and shelters: Electronic communication systems, computer, printer, emergency lighting, generator, etc.
Estimated cost: NIS 15,000
3. Education system: To ensure preschool activities during emergency times, we a need a mobile protective structure to be located in the preschool area. We now have only one protected nursery school.
Estimated cost of unit: NIS 135,000
Through the dark clouds of these days, we feel the warmth of your support of our kibbutz and with all the people of Israel.
We are grateful for any help you can offer.
With you, we are looking forward to better days to come.
The people of Gazit
