Dyslexia Does Not Have to Define a Child’s Future
But today, the ongoing effects of the war are making it more difficult than ever for children with learning disabilities to succeed.
One in five children struggles with dyslexia. Without timely, effective support, these children can easily fall through the cracks—watching their classmates progress while they struggle to keep up, lose confidence, and begin to believe that they simply cannot learn.
The stress, disruption, and instability caused by the war have only deepened these challenges. Many children are falling further behind, and families are struggling to find the professional guidance and educational support they desperately need.
Thousands of children across Israel are entering another school year facing dyslexia and other learning disabilities without the help they need.
The time to reach them is now.
A donation to Kol Koreh is more than financial support. It is an opportunity to help a discouraged child discover that they can learn, succeed, and build a brighter future.
About Kol Koreh
Founded in 2013, Kol Koreh provide children with dyslexia and other language-based learning disabilities the tools, strategies, and emotional support they need to thrive in and out of the classroom.
The Kol Koreh Bernard Silverstein Learning Center
Through the Bernard Silverstein Learning Center, Kol Koreh provides direct, individualized services to children, including:
- Comprehensive educational evaluations that identify each child’s strengths, challenges, and specific learning needs
- Evidence-based educational intervention tailored to the individual child
- Early identification of children at risk for dyslexia and other learning disabilities, allowing intervention to begin before they experience years of frustration and failure
- Support that strengthens academic skills while rebuilding confidence and helping children recognize their own potential
Kol Koreh’s Additional Programs
In addition to the direct student services provided through the Bernard Silverstein Learning Center, Kol Koreh works to create lasting change for children with learning disabilities throughout Israel.
Parent Resources
We provide parents with accurate information, professional referrals, workshops, and individualized guidance to help them understand their child’s needs and navigate the complexities of the Israeli educational system.
We also help parents support their child’s emotional well-being, rebuild confidence, and respond constructively to the frustration that often accompanies learning difficulties.
Professional Development
We train teachers and other educational professionals to identify dyslexia and learning disabilities and provide them with practical, evidence-based strategies for supporting struggling students in the classroom.
Advocacy and Early Identification
Kol Koreh advocates at the Knesset and and collaborate with local and national government entities, educational authorities, and other key stakeholders to raise awareness, advance early identification and appropriate intervention, improve access to effective services and accommodations, and promote policies that better address the needs of these children.
Assistive Technology
We teach students how to use assistive technology to access educational material, overcome barriers to learning, and become more confident and independent learners—even during times of disruption and crisis.
Virtual Learning Center
Our Virtual Learning Center develops accessible, engaging educational materials presented in either Hebrew or English and specifically designed for children with dyslexia and other learning disabilities. Through audio, video, games, and interactive features, students can learn at their own pace—pausing, reviewing, and repeating material until they understand it. By giving students greater control over how they access and engage with information, the Virtual Learning Center helps them take charge of their learning and become more confident and independent learners.
