״Family Without a Home״

A story told from a child's point of view, sharing the obstacles, challenges, anger, and frustrations, faced by tens of thousands of children who have been evacuated from their homes since October 7.

Think about people of all ages, from every part of Israeli society, who now find themselves displaced from their homes. homes located in the areas we all know and cherish - the breathtaking water hikes up north, Rosh Hanikra, stunning Kalaniyot carpets, and more, currently in the midst of a war zone, and the families far from the comfort of their own homes.

 As I wrote "Family in Reserves", I shared my own experiences from raising my kids while my husband was absent. In "Family Without a Home," I'm reaching out to families directly, listening to their stories, and understanding their perspectives. I've spoken with families enduring this reality, hearing their stories of longing for home, and mourning what they've lost as their houses are destroyed before their eyes. The absence of a kitchen or living room, the lack of privacy - it's all taking a toll, disrupting the very fabric of family life.

At this writing, there is no scheduled return for evacuees to their homes. Families are living in hotels or temporary apartments, the children are not in their schools or kindergartens.

This war, which began on October 7th, has turned their world upside down. While many of us continue with our daily lives, these families are grappling with a new normal. Imagine first graders starting kita alef three times over amidst such chaos.

Let's come together to support them during this complex and challenging time. By contributing to the creation of a book where they can express their feelings and experiences, we can show them that we care. Every donation counts, so let's ensure they know they're not alone.

They are missing home and friends, lacking kitchens or living rooms, and the privacy to converse, argue, love, learn, and grow in the ways only home can provide.

 Let's hug these families by creating a book, to help these young children to get through this period, process it, and give words to their difficulties and feelings.

משפחה בלי בית 

סיפור מנקודת המבט של ילד או ילדה, שפונו מהצפון או הדרום למלון. ספר שנותן מקום לרגשות, לכעסים, לתסכולים וגם לכיף שיש בתוך הסיטואציה של עשרות אלפי ילדים שפונו מבתיהם ב7.10 ובו הם יוכלו לזהות את עצמם!

אלפי ילדים פונו מביתם בצפון ובדרום הארץ, חלקם פונו למלונות, חלקם לקיבוצים וחלקם חיים בדירות שכורות ברחבי הארץ. הם מנותקים מהבית,    מהחברים ומהיומיום שהכירו.  הם חווים את המלחמה בעצימות גבוהה ובאופן יומיומי, ואין להם צפי לחזרתם הביתה. 

לפני כחודשיים הוצאנו את הספר ״משפחה במילואים״ עבור ילדים של הורים שנקראו לשרת בצה״ל. התגובות אליו היו מרגשות. המשפחות והילדים נאחזים בו על מנת לפתוח שיחה ולתת מקום לשיח הרגשי על התקופה ולתת מילים לאירוע הדרמטי שחוו כמשפחה וכפרטים.

גם סביב המשפחות שפונו מבתיהן, יש צורך גדול לעיבוד, ולמתן מילים ומקום לחוויות, לכאבים, לכעסים ולגעגוע. הספר 'משפחה בלי בית' מיועד להן.  הוא מספר את הסיפור מנקודת מבטו של ילד או ילדה ויוכל להוות למשפחות עוגן בתקופה מורכבת זו

משפחה במילואים הוא ספר שיצרנו בחודש הראשון למלחמה כשטליה, אמא לשלושה ילדים ובן זוג במילואים,

מצאה שאין לה את המילים להבטיח לילדים שיהיה בסדר.

״הרי כולנו כאן במלחמה, כולנו בעיצומו של משבר, והוא תופס כל אחד מאיתנו בצורה אחרת, גם את ההורים שביננו...

הייתי צריכה ספר שיסייע לילדים שלי, ולא היה.אז עשינו שיהיה״...

ביחד עם נשות מילואים ובהתגייסותם של 270 תורמים נדיבים מימנו את יצירתו, הדפסתו ומסירות חינם ל24,000 ילדים של משפחות במילואים.
