Dear friends and colleagues,
As you all know the past month was not easy for those of us who live in Israel and more so for the ones who live close to the Gaza border.
Our kids (ages 6-12 Y) go to a small community school that is located ~20 km from the Gaza border. The school was founded about 15 years ago by families in the Israeli Negev that wanted to raise their children to be curious, open-minded, creative, and supportive of the environment and their community. The school is mostly sponsored by parents’ tuition and is run by a nonprofit organization (to learn more about our school visit our website).
Unfortunately, our school was badly affected by the horrifying Hamas actions of October 7th. Many of our teachers lost their homes and close relatives, and over a third of our families lost their jobs and are unable to pay the school tuition anymore. We stand helpless, facing the fact that this special place that we built for our children will no longer exist.
Before this happens, we decided to reach out to our friends and families abroad and ask for help.
Our goal is to raise $ 200,000 in order to continue supporting our teachers who were directly hurt by the events, recruit new teachers to temporarily replace them,
and allow all children in our community (including those who cannot afford to pay tuition) to return to their safe place, meet their friends, and feel “normal” again.
Any donation will be greatly appreciated and will be personally recognized by our children.
Donations of:
$350 will cover one-month tuition for one child
$1,050 will cover three-month tuition for one child
$4,200 will cover one-year tuition for one child
