My mitzvah project aims to support the IDF Widows and Orphans Organization by getting donations. Israel has always had a huge place in my heart, but right now it especially does. In early October, a war broke out between Hamas and Israel. Over the course of the war, thousands of Jews have been murdered, kidnapped, or held captive. This organization supports those who are widows and orphans because their spouses or parents died serving Israel in IDF. This organization offers them support in many ways like providing them with such opportunities as camps, birthday gifts, medical grants, and bar/bat mitzvah celebrations, as well as by connecting them with each other so they have a community and by advocating for them in front of the government and the general public.

The reason this organization touches a special place in my heart is because I have always been drawn to working with kids. This organization combines my passion for helping children and my love of Israel. I think this is a very important organization because I know most certainly I couldn’t imagine my life without my family, siblings, and friends so I really appreciate that this organization creates a community for people who might feel very alone without it. My goal is to donate to this organization so I can make a difference and help the people in need.
