For more than 10 years, Latet has been the only organization in Israel providing Holocaust survivors in need with a complete aid package, including monthly food boxes, social support and an Emergency Fund for crucial needs such as:
- dental care
- glasses
- adult diapers
- hearing devices
- home restorations to ensure survivors’ homes are safe and secure, and more.
Since 2008, Latet's Emergency Fund has provided 14,280 items and renovated 1,550 apartments. 

With so many survivors in need, our Emergency Fund is RUNNING OUT. 
Hundreds of survivors are waiting for assistance. We've started this fundraiser to provide immediate assistance to 80 survivors. 
Thanks to you (every dollar counts!), we'll be able to provide:

• Dental treatments to 25 survivors >> Dental care is very expensive, and, while it is a real necessity, is not a top priority for most survivors living in poverty. Oral damage and pain is often treatable and can reduce a lot of suffering for survivors. 1 dental care = $2,000

• Home restorations to 15 survivors >> The restorations are managed by Latet staff and led by a professional contractor. Whether it is a dysfunctional kitchen or an inaccessible bathtub, the home repairs and renovations ensure the personal safety of the survivors and improve their overall quality of life. 1 home restoration = $1,500 on average
• Glasses to 40 survivors >> Without good vision, the elderly often feel confused or lost, and this increases their feeling of loneliness. This cost provides a home visit from an ophthalmologist, new glasses frames, and prescriptive lenses. 1 pair of glasses = $190

Latet was founded in 1996 and is the largest Israeli NGO combating poverty. Acting as an umbrella organization, Latet provides for the basic needs of populations living in poverty and food insecurity, giving ongoing food assistance to over 200,000 people in Israel. The organization operates the leading national food bank and runs impactful aid programs. For the last 10 years it has been the only organization in Israel providing a comprehensive aid package to Holocaust survivors in need, including a monthly food box, emergency fund for medical and paramedical needs, home restorations as well as ongoing social support in the form of personal volunteers and social events throughout the year.
