Standing Alongside a Survivor of Ritual Abuse

Hello and thank you for being here. We are friends of S. We have mobilized to lend a hand to a true pioneer.

In 2023, S. broke the code of silence and became the first person in Israel to be interviewed as a survivor of ritual abuse, as part of the investigative article "Nobody's Children" in Bereshit magazine. The rare courage she displayed helped bring a silenced and critical issue to the public agenda, and thanks to her, many others began to find their voice and their path to healing and rehabilitation.

S. is a survivor of incest and severe ritualistic sexual abuse from her early childhood. Most horrifyingly, these abuses were initiated by and participated in by her own family members. Further down this page, you can read S.'s story. Warning: The detailed content below is difficult to read.

Today, S. needs a community to stand by her side.

S.'s family turned their backs on her at a young age, and she alone, with immense strength, managed to move forward—to work, to function, to support herself, and to create a life. She reached out to her family members for help, but to this day they continue to alienate her, actively working to isolate her and thwart her attempts to build a normal life and rehabilitate herself after the extreme abuse she experienced.

Currently, S. is in the midst of a complex physical and mental rehabilitation process. She is a real-life hero, but the resources of one woman—as strong and brave as she may be—are not enough to walk this path alone. Our togetherness and support are the necessary counter-response to the ostracization forced upon her by her family and to the extreme traumas she endured.

Due to the high sensitivity of the case, this campaign is being conducted anonymously, fully maintaining S.'s privacy and safety. We, friends who know her closely, have gathered to raise funds for a rehabilitation period that will help her cope with and overcome the many obstacles along the way.

S.'s Story – Content Warning: Difficult to Read

From a very young age, two little girls lived inside her simultaneously: one terrified and horrified by the terrible things she experienced, and a second girl who functioned as if everything was fine and nothing had happened. Her distress had no words, and there wasn't a single adult to notice her. Like many victims, S. did not know the source of the suffering and terror she was experiencing until she reached adulthood.

Only after long and winding years of therapy did the unfathomable images and harsh memories from her childhood begin to surface. With courage and immense effort, piece by piece, the shocking truth was revealed: she had been the victim of systematic sexual abuse within her family, as part of group rituals that involved the use of religious symbols, anesthetics, and more.

The heartbreak and pain reached their peak when she realized that her parents had handed her over to doctors who performed medical procedures on her, leaving her with physical damages and deformities that she suffers from to this day. Information about these events was intentionally hidden from her throughout her entire life. But against all odds, and with shrewdness, resourcefulness, courage, and stubbornness, S. refuses to give up on exposing these sadistic and dark acts. She goes from doctor to doctor to successfully obtain professional medical opinions that corroborate and back up the memories that left physical evidence on her body.

Even today, 40 years later, the devastation and ruin remain the center of gravity in her life. Choosing life demands a daily struggle from her, where all her strength and resources are dedicated to endless coping. Physically, she suffers from chronic illnesses that deeply impair her ability to maintain a routine. Mentally, she is required to exert superhuman effort just to survive: fragments of memories from those unfathomable events repeatedly flood her consciousness, causing severe anxiety, nightmares, dissociation, a constant sense of terror, and an inability to feel safe even within her own home.
