Hi, my name is Noy. I’m a transgender student at Ben-Gurion University in Be’er Sheva and I’m scared. I’m scared because the radical anti-LGBTQ organization, “Choosing Family,” affiliated with MK Avi Maoz’s far-right “Noam” party, just established its first student chapter, located at the Technion University in Haifa. But I know that Avi Maoz and “Choosing Family” won’t be satisfied with just one chapter. Their new Technion branch is only the pilot project for a chain of student chapters to spread their racist and anti-LGBTQ agenda across Israeli college campuses.
But we won’t give up hope. The best response to Avi Maoz’s homophobic agenda is expanding our student network. I’m proud to call myself a member of Standing Together’s Ben-Gurion chapter. I know that our chapter is the only place on campus that can truly connect diverse struggles for equality, peace, and climate justice. Only by uniting these fights will we create a new Israeli majority – that will fight for our rights and transform our reality.
Today, Standing Together organizes eight campus chapters across Israel.
To double our reach and confront Avi Maoz’s homophobic challenge head-on we need to raise 12,000 USD. Can you help us?
