The volunteers of "Road to Recovery" have known Marie Samar since the day she was born,
and have escorted Marie and her family on their difficult course. Marie was born with a
congenital spinal defect, and her life was saved as a result of devoted medical care. She was
operated on, and platinum implants were inserted into her spine. Despite her disability and the
difficulties entailed, Marie has led a normal life and has integrated into a regular school
environment.
Not long ago, the spinal implants broke and Marie must now undergo an urgent operation in
order to replace the implants and save her life. The cost of the operation is approximately NIS
170,000, of which 90,000 has already been raised by her family and the family of volunteers.
We hope that sufficient good-willed donors will be found to help Marie live the life she
deserves.
Marie's father, Amjad, a peace activist for many years, has devoted his life to nurturing his
family and to successfully promoting his daughters' education and welfare. We now ask you to
extend a loving hand to Marie to help prolong her life and to enable her to develop and grow.
