Hamal Dana Gat operates from a small office in a kibbutz in the north of the country and is run by volunteers and donors. 67 volunteers are scattered throughout the country, operating a number of dedicated WhatsApp groups of about 4,000 active members. Together, they all respond to the various aid requests.
So what do The volunteers of Hamal Dana Gat actually do? :
- provide soldiers with military and medical equipment, food and clothing, from Hermon to Eilat.
- Find housing for thousands of evacuees from the south and the north.
- Assist families of the murdered and the fallen through live relationships and personal support which is irreplaceable; we make sure to attend funerals, to be present during Shiv’a, to respond to the needs of children from families of the victims, as well as other things that can contribute to their mental well-being and sense of solidarity.
- Assist the standby squads in the northern communities to equip themselves with everything necessary.
- Collect donations of clothing and hygiene products for the evacuees.
- Help farmers in the south and north to find workers and to initiate direct sales from farmers in the south to consumers throughout the country.
All in all we have helped more than 210,000 people in the first three weeks!!!
