Amir is 14, Danial is 2. Both boys have a rare genetic condition — primary immunodeficiency. This means their immune systems hardly work, and their bodies cannot fight infections on their own. Amir was diagnosed only at the age of eight. By that time, years of illness and complications had already accumulated — many of which could have been prevented with earlier treatment. Danial’s condition was identified right after birth, and therapy began immediately, giving him a chance to avoid severe complications.
For both boys, the only treatment option is a bone marrow transplant. That is why the family came to Israel and is receiving treatment at Schneider Children’s Medical Center. In December, Amir underwent a bone marrow transplant — a crucial and long-awaited procedure. At the end of December, he was discharged from the hospital and is now in recovery. This is not an easy period, but for the family it is filled with relief and cautious joy: the hardest step has been taken. At the same time, the cost of Amir’s transplant has not yet been fully covered.
In January, the next stage begins — preparation for and transplantation for the younger brother, Danial. For this treatment to happen on time, the family needs further support.
We have known this family for several months and have been alongside them throughout this time. Danial attends developmental classes for toddlers, the family takes part in foundation events, and stays in touch with volunteers. When volunteers visit the family in Petah Tikva or meet them at foundation events, they see a very warm and close-knit family, full of care for one another and inner strength despite everything they are going through.

The boys’ mother’s name is Aigerim. For many years, her life has been shaped by constant anxiety for her two sons, who survive only thanks to regular therapy and injections. Her simplest and most important dream now is for her children to be healthy and to return to a normal life: Amir — to his teenage years, and Danial — to the life of a young boy. A life without hospitals and constant treatment, a life of calm family happiness.
This dream is already very close. And each of us can make a small contribution to help bring it closer — together, we can help cover the cost of Amir’s transplant and make it possible for Danial’s treatment to begin on time.
