Everyone who had the privilege of knowing our beloved Ella, knows that she always went out of her way to help and do good to others even at times when she herself faced challenges and difficulties due to cancer.
In the months before she passed away, one of the beautiful ideas she proposed was to establish a spa together with Rachashei Lev NPO at Rachashei Lev's house in Tel Hashomer hospital. This spa designed to give a moment of peace and quiet to children with cancer and their families - a place where one can pamper themselves, gather strength to continue the difficult journey to fight for their lives.
We started the processes to establish the "Ella's Spa" project together with Ella, but unfortunately Ella did not stay with us to see it come to life and despite this we promised to do everything to make her amazing dream a reality.
On May 15, 2022, Ella's birthday, we launched the 'Ella's Spa' complex at Rachashei Lev's house in Tel Hashomer Hospital. The complex contains an indulging sauna, a Jacuzzi, a massages treatment bed, pedicure and manicure treatment room and a hairdresser saloon and is operated by professional therapists. Every day, dozens of children with cancer and their parents come to the complex. They describe the experience as "a spiritual retreat" - moments that allow them to pamper themselves, rest, take a moment from the race for life, cry, release their fears and pain - while surrounded and supported by a professional team, which helps them relax, gather themselves again, and return to the oncology wards with renewed strength.
In the recent months, the 'Ella Spa' complex has also treated and helped dozens of wounded IDF soldiers from the Iron Swords War, and their parents. Soldiers who returned with a broken body and a scarred soul, after risking their lives to protect us all. They come to the spa complex to soothe their aching bodies, and to receive moments of respite and peace for their aching and tormented souls.
The exciting reactions from the children, parents and the medical and professional teams - spread the news of the spa to other hospitals, who asked us to build a similar complex in theirs, realizing how much power and influence the place has in strengthening the body and mind of children, parents and soldiers - in the war for life.
We feel imbued with a mission and are eager to establish a second complex of 'Ella's Spa' in another hospital. A complex where we can continue to spread the relief to the body and soul, fulfill Ella's will, and be partners in the ability of people who are forced to fight for their lives - to recover and win this war!
