Fundraising project for spaying and neutering street cats.
We are volunteers, residents of the Carmel Coast, request your support in fundraising project - Spaying and Neutering of Tirat Carmel's cats.
At Tirat Carmel , more than 4,000 street cats live in distress of hunger, thirst, disease, road crashes, exposed to extreme weather.
The suffering and distress of the street cats will be significantly reduced if we will spay and neuter as many cats as possible. This way litters of thousands of homeless cats will be avoided.
Residents also suffer from the dirt and noise that comes with the multitude of cats in the streets. So both those who care for cats and those who dislike them share one interest - reducing the number of cats on the street.
Although it did not win the government tender, the municipality approved a budget that would suffice for sterilizing and neutering 200 street cats, compared to their rapid breeding rate, this is a drop in the sea.
What their life will look like - It's up to us, cat lovers from all over the country.
Any amount raised will go to this purpose only! And will be transferred directly to the "Haifa Animal Welfare Association" account, which will carry out the actual project.
The project was conducted under the guidance and advice of the "SOS Animals".
Spaying and neutering is the most effective, legal and humane way to reduce the number of street cats, as has been shown in research and observations worldwide.
The street cats will be humanely trapped, transported to the clinic where they will receive medical treatment, rabies vaccination and undergo sterilization / neuter surgery. They will then be given painkillers and antibiotics.
Each one will be marked with a tiny crease from his left ear so that he will not be trapped again in the future.
At the end of the process, the cats will be returned exactly to where they were taken, to the area of living and the food and water sources they are familiar with. These cats will live a fuller and healthier life.
The cost of the whole process for each cat is 150 NIS.
