Shalom! We are reaching ouy to you as part of our fundraising project to build a safe room for out small school in northern Israel. Currently, we lack a safe room withing our school premises, located a few mils away from the Israeli-Lebanese & Syrian borders. Help us create a protected and secure environment for our children, staff ans parents in this time of turmoil. We guarantee all raised funds are solely invested in the safe room, that will help us maintain our normal mentally sound school routine.
Our community elementary school is in Kibbutz Huqoq , located in northern Israel a few miles from the Israeli-Lebanese & Syrian borders. On Saturdat Oct 7th war broke out in Israel with Hamas' brutal attack targeting Israel with rockets and infiltrating border communities. On Oct 8th, the Lebanese militant group Hezbollah started firing guided rockets and artillery at Israeli villages adjacent to the Israel-Lebanon border. Our school needs a safe room.
We are working together with the ‘Ministry of Education’ and our ‘Regional Council Education Department’ in order to provide a portable concrete structure on our school grounds that will serve as a bomb shelter, required for the safety of our students. Unfortunately, at this time our school is currently not a top "priority" for receiving funds for this project. We are asking for your financial assistance, to provide our kids with a normal mentally sound routine, safety and protection, in the current conditions.
Our school is the home to 175 pupils (between 3-14 years old), and a staff of 30 adults. Currently, we voluntarily accepter 30 children of evacuees into our school classes. We understand the need to reach out and assist our people, and want to help create a healthy routine for them. As of now, these children will stay with us until the end of the year or until the situation allows them to return to their homes.
Our private, nonprofit organization "Metyashvim Im Has'viva" (English for Galilee Ecco group, registered NGO in Israel) was established in 2008 as a parent's initiative to support all educational and administrative aspects of our local elementary school named “Beth ha-Maayan” (English for “the spring house”), our school is registered as part of the Israel education system.
