Ben was diagnosed last February with Miller Fisher Syndrome, which affected his nervous system and causes vision difficulties and problems with mobility.

The rehabilitation process is long, and during this time he is unable to work.

Despite the immense difficulty and challenges, Ben chooses to meet this situation without complaint and with a sincere intention to grow through it.

What is Miller Fisher Syndrome?

Miller Fisher Syndrome is a rare autoimmune disorder that affects the peripheral nervous system.

It can cause double vision, loss of coordination and balance, and absence of reflexes.

Treatment typically includes plasma exchange therapy and physiotherapy, and recovery may take around six months or longer before returning to normal functioning. 

What Happened to Ben

 A few weeks ago, Ben experienced a sudden and deeply unsettling event. His vision suddenly changed and he began seeing double. Severe nausea appeared, along with loss of balance, and gradually the control of his limbs was affected as his body stopped functioning normally. The pain was intense and he required urgent hospitalization.

Only after extensive testing and diagnosis did it become clear that he was suffering from Miller Fisher Syndrome, a rare autoimmune condition that affects the nervous system.

Ben underwent four plasma exchange treatments and is now in the midst of a long neurological rehabilitation process.

In recent years, Ben worked in graphic design and renovation work, both physical and computer-based jobs that he is currently unable to perform. As a result, he has no source of income during this period.

Doctors estimate that it will take at least six months to a year before he can return to normal functioning.

Ben chooses to receive this situation without complaint or blame, and to see it as an opportunity for deep reflection, inner work, and growth.
