In the wake of a disastrous oil spill on Israel’s Mediterranean coast, there is now an even greater threat to Eilat’ Red Sea coral reefs. A plan for an oil pipeline between Eilat and the Mediterranean will endanger Eilat’s beautiful corals. Donate now to save Eilat’s reefs before they are destroyed forever!

A deal to bring Emirati crude oil by tanker to a pipeline in the Red Sea port of Eilat is going forward after Israel normalized ties with the United Arab Emirates.

Within the next months, tankers of crude oil from the UAE will arrive to the edge of the coral reef. On arrival it will be unloaded and transported through decades-old, aging pipelines for export to Europe.

This plan would welcome as many as 150 giant oil tankers a year to dock at the edge of Eilat’s sensitive coral reef.

This is an accident waiting to happen.

No other country would consider unloading oil in such close proximity to a natural treasure like the coral reef. It is simply too dangerous. Donate now to protect Eilat’s reef and help cancel this plan!

Coral reefs are central to the balance of the ocean ecosystem offering structure, food, and protection to a wide variety of marine animals.

Eilat’s corals seem to be particularly resilient to higher temperatures and may be key to helping reef communities around the world adapt to climate change.

Now these amazing corals and the marine life they support are now in critical danger because of the government’s short-sighted and dangerous plan. Don’t let them put their profits ahead of our planet!

Without your support now, the question will not be if there will be a devastating oil spill on top of these pristine corals, but when!

Scientists and environmentalists are in agreement that this deal will only lead to another ecological disaster. The damage to nature if the reefs are afflicted will be even greater than the one we just experienced.

But the government is not listening.

We are in this fight and we can’t win without your support.  Will you join us?

Your generous donation will:

  • Fight to protect Eilat’s coral reef
  • Defeat the plans to welcome oil tankers to endanger one of Israel’s natural treasures
  • Support clean-up activities in the aftermath of February’s 2021 oil spill
  • Support the sustainable management of Israel’s marine environment

Donate now and join the fight to prevent this harmful plan from destroying one of the Jewish State’s most precious environmental treasures.
