Ziv Neurim was founded in 2000 by ex-members of Israel's elite naval commando unit, in memory of Ziv Levy, a fellow commando who fell in the line of duty
As part of its social commitment and involvement, Ziv Neurim supports, strengthens and empowers women who suffered from sexual abuse, through individual meetings with a personal instructor. The women go through a series of marine challenges and missions in a variety of sea vessels and in changing sea situations. The activities are followed by a mutual processing discussion and processes of individual reflection. These are intended to create an experience of a significant and supportive personal contact and to enable the feeling of success in facing challenges, difficulty and fear. The experience of success at sea may be then translated to other life experiences in additional environments.
