My name is Gal Yamin and I currently work as an educator in Tel Aviv, in particular, working with the most vulnerable youth.
About a year ago I came across David, a young teenager, abandoned in the street, who exhibited signs of malnourishment, neglect and previous trauma.
Despite his current condition, I made the decision of taking David under my care, with the aims of supporting him through this difficult process.
Throughout the past year I have come to love and respect David and discovered that beneath many underlying health and mental conditions, he has a beautiful heart and soul.
Due to his sexual orientation, David has been an unaccompanied youth since being expelled from the house of his parents at the young of 10. Due to his exposure to the streets at such a young age, David has experienced significant sexual violence and exploitation.
We are reaching out to you to assist us in acquiring the appropriate funds to support David’s rehabilitation programme and to assist David in his journey to recovery, as within the Israeli context, there is limited government assistance programs for individuals with Davids’ background and conditions.
We offer our thanks, and truly appreciate your good support in assisting David to reclaim the life that has been taken from him due to his sexual orientation, prior hardships and negative coping mechanisms.
