Staff Sergeant Roey Weiser Hy”d, a hero who bravely gave his life on the tragic morning of October 7, 2023, was more than a courageous soldier. At just 21 years old, Roey was a compassionate soul, a constant source of humor and support for those around him. As a dual Israeli and American citizen, his dedication to his comrades—especially those from underprivileged backgrounds—made him beloved by all who knew him.
In Israel, approximately 15% of soldiers come from low socio-economic backgrounds and struggle to afford basic necessities like food, clothing, and electricity. Roey's acts of kindness went beyond the call of duty. He ensured no one went without, always willing to share what he had and lift the spirits of those around him. His act of exceptional heroism—saving 12 of his fellow soldiers—is a testament to his bravery and selfless spirit.
To honor Roey's memory, we, his parents, are launching this campaign to continue his legacy of compassion on a larger scale. We aim to support IDF soldiers from underprivileged backgrounds. Working closely with the army's social services, we will identify those in greatest need and ensure they have their basic requirements met. By providing these essentials, we help our dedicated soldiers focus on their critical mission of defending Israel.
Your generous donation will go towards two distinct types of projects:
-
Direct support for soldiers: Providing food, clothing, and other basic needs to underprivileged IDF soldiers.
-
Memorial projects in Roey’s name: Funding initiatives that honor Roey’s legacy, such as the Mitzpe (memorial viewpoint) built by the youth of his community.
Your contribution will not only support underprivileged IDF soldiers but will also play a crucial role in preserving Roey Weiser's memory and values for years to come. Together, let's make a lasting impact, spreading compassion in honor of Roey's bravery and heroism. Join us in ensuring that those who protect us are supported and cared for.
