Israel Prize for Hebrew Song winner, Yehoram Gaon and Prof. Moshe Ben-Basat, have launched an album of piyutim: Et Shaarei Ratzon - featuring traditional piyutim of Spanish and Ladino Jewry. The new album includes 14 familiar and classic piyutim, in special arrangements, some of which incorporate Ladino passages.
The new album is the work of two good friends: Yehoram Gaon - Israel Prize winner, singer, actor, and well-known figure in every Israeli home, and Moshe Ben Best - professor of mathematics, who grew up in the Hatikva neighborhood and broke barriers in the start-up and technology fields. They came together to do what they love - to sing the Ladino piyutim they were raised on and sang together for decades, they and their sons and grandsons.
All proceeds from sales of the album go towards supporting the ongoing activities at the Lone Soldier Center in memory of Michael Levin!
