*Update - December 8th: There has been a deterioration in Eitan’s medical condition and he’s now unable to fly. In the coming weeks he will receive chemotherapy and other treatment to try and reduce the number of cancer cells in his body. Only once his condition allows, will Eitan and his family be able to fly to the US for further life-saving treatment. We will inform all the donors of his situation as soon as possible. We are all together, family and friends, praying for healing and hoping this is only a small bump along the road to victory.
**********
It was five months ago. On the evening before Eitan\'s Bar Mitzvah night, they received the devastating and incomprehensible news that his cancer had returned. At that moment they decided that they would celebrate the Bar Mitzvah properly, as they had planned. And so, from the hospital, they went straight to the Bar Mitzvah and did everything they could to give Eitan and themselves a few more happy moments before their world would come crashing down.
And they knew exactly what was in store for them. Their lives had already collapsed once before. When Eitan was 8 and a half years old, he had lymphoma. They\'d been through everything, including hard treatments, and managed to beat the cancer. And it is true that there is always the fear of relapse, but no one believed it would return like this, so strong and aggressive, and on the night before his Bar Mitzvah. This time it had also changed shape – this time it\'s T-cell lymphoblastic leukemia.
Eitan started an intensive routine of treatments which involves going from treatment to treatment, from chemo to chemo, to biological treatments, but nothing helps... The doctors explain that the possibilities are slowly depleting and Eitan\'s parents, Geffen and Rafi, took the initiative and started searching all over the world for a treatment that will save Eitan. They discovered a clinical trial called CAR T-Cell Therapy for Leukemia. It\'s the treatment that can lead Eitan to a crushing victory against leukemia! This experimental treatment is performed in Houston, Texas, at a children\'s hospital research institute. And that\'s where they have to get as soon as possible!
Since this is an experimental treatment, it is not funded through the national health fund or insurance companies, and neither is the accompanying hospitalization and stay. This is where you come in. We can all give Eitan hope. We just need you with us. Just a little push on the way to victory! Each one. Anyone. Any amount ✌
Please accept heartfelt thanks from the Hova family:
Eitan, Geffen, Rafi, Smadar, Shani and Noam.
