The Israeli non-profit "Matnat Chaim" (Hebrew for gift of life) recruits and supports healthy volunteers who donate kidneys to patients who need transplants. Over 770 Israelis have received a new life via a kidney transplant facilitated by the organization. The kidney donors don't receive monetary compensation for their donation and their motivation is solely to help others and save lives. Thanks to the work of Matnat Chaim , Israel today is the world leader in the number of altruistic kidney transplants as a percentage of the population.
