A month and a half ago, when he was 18, I lost Nir. My only son, who was taken by a brutal brain cancer.
Nir, with his embarrassed smile, was a special boy, with a huge heart, very responsible, that treated everyone with respect and care.
Nir loved the sea and always said the waves were "relaxing" for him. Luckily, when he was a young teenager he had found a new hobby- Netanya sea Scouts.
The connection was immediate. For years, he participated in activities, and use to help the younger scouts, or just go there for fun.
All my life, Nir and I have always been on the giving side. Always in voluntary.
Now that Nir was taken, naturally i thought that the best memorial would be related to the sea and the sea scouts he loved so much.
When I contacted the sea scouts I found that they lacked an activity boat. A sailboat, which the scouts use for cruises and learn the boating profession.
The cost of the boat and equipment required for operation reaches NIS 100,000, and the boat is used for a period of about 20 years.
So for anyone who reads this words, this is the opportunity to open your ♥ ️, to help a new generation of sea scouts the opportunity to pursue an activity - in a new boat - that will carry and perpetuate Nir's name.
