The new Chabad House of Raanana, is a project 20 years in the making, since a plot of land was donated by the city to Chabad in 1998. The Chabad Shaliach, Rav Eliyahu Shadmi has, with much tenacity and faith, finally achieved an initial building permit to construct a new centre that will be used to facilitate learning, prayer, outreach, community, education, loving kindness and hope in the city of Raanana.
The centre will be named Beit Shmuel, in loving memory of the Shadmi's son, Shmuel z"l who tragically departed this world for a higher place earlier this year. It is my sincere hope that this centre will be a fitting memorial to the wonderful good deeds of R’ Shmuel, as it fills the city of Raanana with much light and love, in the warm, non-judgemental and true Torah path of Chabad everywhere, and the Shadmi family in Raanana, in particular.
Details of the project can be reviewed on the Chabad Raanana website, the total cost of the project is estimated at around 1 M USD, on the occasion of my Bat Mitzva, I hope to kickstart this important project, by raising the first 20,000 USD of the building costs, in leau of any Bat Mitzvah presents, and by raising awareness among my family and friends. I hope that my first tzedokah project, will be the forerunner for an adult life of responsibility, commitment to community and a sense of giving, as instilled in me by my dear grandparents and family.
Thank you for joining me!!!
