Who are we

The Negev Refugees Center is a voluntary organization that works in direct contact with various communities of asylum seekers in the south of Israel. It also worked with the detainees in Holot Detention Center, until its closure. Over the years, our community work with the refugees has increased and expanded. We led initiatives, created unique projects, and our circles have grown and diversified. To this day, we are the only organization based in the south, that works along and with asylum seekers, in collaboration with other organizations, associations and formal institutions.

What do we do

The Negev Refugees Center works in Be'er Sheva and its surroundings for several years. Since we opened our physical home, one year ago, our activity has grown significantly. The number of volunteers has increased and the center became an activity center that answers to asylum seekers from Be'er Sheva and the surrounding cities: Rahat, Kyriat Gat, Sderot, Dimona, etc.

The diverse activities in the center include: Community work, providing support to families, exhaustion of rights, activities for children, professional trainings, language classes, hikes and enrichment activities, public campaigns and consciousness rising in the Israeli public, educational tours and lectures to the wider audience, interested in learning about the asylum seekers in Israel.

Why do we need the funding

The funding will be used to cover the rent and bills of the refugees center in Be'er Sheva.

The life of a refugee are an assortment of tantalizing experiences, which are comprised of abandonment, escape, emergency and emigration.

Successful funding will allow us to keep our unique community house, the only one of its kind, in the south of the country.

Together we will provide the refugees with an experience of empowerment, duration and stability.

We invite you to take part in the promotion and maintenance of our activities, for and together with the asylum seekers in the south.

Because nobody is a refugee out of choice.
