Who we are?
Nika Sport and Community works to promote equal opportunities for children through diverse and empowering sports activities that have a positive effect on the individual and their environment. We believe that through adapted sports activities children can develop self-confidence, overcome problems and fears, see the other and find the qualities inherent in them and bring them to expression.
We do this through the application, development and implementation of a systematic training philosophy called Multiskills that places the emphasis on smart sports training. As part of our approach, we believe that all children should be exposed to training approaches that develop in them a wide range of diverse abilities that over time will allow them to be more adaptable to the environment and face challenges in everyday life.
As part of our activity, we provide different and unique training programs to formal and informal educational institutions and promote initiatives to implement the programs in educational settings, where the exposure to sports activities is little. Among other things, we promote unique projects required by the order of the hour, such as psychosocial process activity with child populations from the evacuated settlements.
In order to realize the plans, while maintaining a high professional standard, we certify professionals (teachers, trainers and instructors) in our working methods and in the framework of workshops, lectures and courses in cooperation with bodies, such as: the School for Trainers at the Wingate Institute, the Eilat Association , the Football Association, Elizur Center, various associations, Ninja School and more.
Why now?
· The amount of children and youth who are currently engaged in physical activity was found to be one of the lowest in the OECD.
· The children of Israel are among the last places in terms of movement.
· For almost two decades, Israeli children have been in the top 3 in terms of obesity in all its aspects and the products associated with it in terms of chronic morbidity.
· Physical education is in significant decline - in many schools the scope of physical activity does not come close to the international standard.
Israeli children do not meet the recommendations of the International Health Organization in terms of the scope and issue of physical activity.
And in the reality we are experiencing, what could be a better medicine than strengthening mental and physical resilience through beneficial and enjoyable physical activity,
But also systematic, consistent and experiential?
The purpose of the project - fundraising to help underprivileged children participate in sports activities and create an opportunity for them as equals among equals.
For each of your donations, we at Nika will double the amount (Matching).
Help us together raise a smile and morale for the children of Israel.
