In six months time I will be celebrating my Bat Mitzvah - I realise how lucky I am as twelve is an age that many children did not survive to see during the Holocaust.
My great-grandparents were lucky enough to escape Germany just before the war started and through a lot of hard work, managed to build a new life for themselves in England. Many people survived the Holocaust only to find out that their whole family had been killed and many chose to move to Israel to try to rebuild their lives.
To mark my Bat Mitzvah, I have chosen to raise money for
Latet, an Israeli Charity Organisation that provides support to many types of people "
in need" in Israel, in particular, for their project
Aid for Life that provides help of all kinds to some of the 45,000 Israeli Holocaust survivors who are living in poverty. As a young Jewish Israeli who is lucky enough to live a lovely life, I feel that I want to help and support those who went through the horrors of the Holocaust but are still finding it difficult to survive today.
As part of my fundraising campaign for Latet's Aid for Life, I will be running the 5km race in Modiin on 23rd November 2018 and would be really really grateful if you could sponsor me so that together we can raise money for this important cause.
Wish me luck!
Many thanks,
Moriyah xxx
