The lives of the residents in the south of Israel turned upside down on October 7th. Following a brutal and cruel attack by Hamas terrorists, the survivors were all evacuated from their homes. Many families had to flee their homes without even the basic clothing necessities.
Seeing this dire need "Chomi’s free first hand travelling boutique" was created. Chomi Sklar, who owns and manages a long standing boutique in Jerusalem, swiftly put together a team of stylists, shleppers and drivers, all volunteers. The team passes between the hotels and the guest houses, to which the refugees from the south have been evacuated, and allows each and every one of the women to choose new clothes, free of charge, according to their personal needs.
Since November 8th, this team has been busy collecting, arranging and purchasing new clothes. Finding suppliers to donate clothing and transporting the new clothes throughout the country. Making sure that each travelling boutique is esthetically pleasing and inviting.
Each and every detail has been thought thru’, including stylists who give warm and personal attention to each of the women, allowing them to feel a "moment of sanity" in the sea of pain that has plagued the State of Israel.
In order for us to continue our unique project and provide new clothes to the refugee residents of the south, we need funds to restock. We are looking for donations to purchase more clothing and allow this amazing project to continue. Obviously we would only buy from Israeli designers, allowing the donations to go further by providing income for small designer businesses, most often owned by women.
We hope you will join us in this amazing project, giving these wonderful lady evacuees the opportunity to feel some semblance of normality in our tense reality.
