Mamad HaRova is a wonderful school located in a listed building in the Jewish Quarter of the Old City. The pupils are fortunate in going to school in the heart of the Jewish world and each day fulfil Zechariah's prophecy of children playing again in the streets of Jerusalem.
Mamad Harova is a co-ed religious primary school with a family atmosphere with a passionate and dedicated teaching and support staff. It gives all the pupils an opportunity to find their unique strengths and to excel in their own way. It proudly encourages tolerance and inclusion; and in the past couple of years it has even trained children as young mediators.
In addition to a strong academic program in core secular and religious subjects it is known for its extra science programs in Genetics, Zoology and Maths.
The school's flagship project is a multi-year Jerusalem Studies program which culminates in a unique event with final year (12 year old) pupils acting as guides for family, friends (& sometimes members of the general public) around the Old City. The tour includes both formal guiding and immersive experiences - always to great acclaim.
The school's modest structure, over 150 years old, does not include large halls, yet a magic of art takes place in the arched classrooms during "regular" art lessons, special classes for those who find need in them and during many other occasions. The art program's reputation is wide spread and the lead teacher has received the prestigious recognition from the Ministry of Education as "Teacher of the Century"
