Six years
ago Shishi Shabbat Yisraeli set out to fulfill a dream. Since then, our caring members and creative,
grassroots programming have helped over 6000 young FSU olim feel truly at
home in Israel.
Still, we know that most of our members remain alone
on Shabbatot and Chagim. We are raising funds to rent a warm space in
Jerusalem to gather, celebrate, and grow together – JeRUSOlim House!
1) We are looking for a FOUNDING SPONSOR for the House, including naming rights - contribution of $54,000. Please write to shishabyisraeli@gmail.com.
2) We are asking our community MEMBERS and dear FRIENDS to support the activities of JeRUSOlim house with a recurring monthly donation of $36/$54/$180 to enable the following important and
meaningful activities all year round at JeRUSOlim House:
1) Shabbat and
holiday dinners for both new and veteran olim who moved to Israel without
family.
2) Olim empowerment activities - legal
rights, professional mentoring, Business Hebrew, and social start-up initiatives of
members.
3) Holiday
celebrations and Community Volunteer events.
4)
Study evenings and inspiring lectures.
5) ArtZehut (Art
& Identity) creative workshops
6)
Argaman - encounters with Israeli artists and
culture.
7) Musical and artistic performances by member
artists.
8) Jewish Brain Ring
competitions
9) Educational excursions throughout
Jerusalem.
10) Large lending library of books on Jewish history,
literature and thought.
Shishi Shabbat Yisraeli has created a precious,
expanding community of young, talented FSU Olim. Your support of JeRUSOlim House will ensure
that we continue to strengthen one another - and Israel - on Shabbatot, chagim,
and all year round!
