A year has passed since the tragic October 7th. Our precious soldiers are still fighting terrorists in Gaza, Lebanon, and various other areas around and within Israel. As you know, our brave soldiers have been called up again and again, some for the fourth or even fifth time.
SUKKOT & SIMCHATORAH is approaching, and we will all sit with family and friends for the festive holiday meals. But what about our heroic soldiers? They will be sitting around fire barrels instead. We will be wearing crisp new holiday outfits. And our soldiers will be donning bulletproof vests and bloodstained helmets. These heroes deserve to enjoy the holiday too. But many will be spending 'celebrating' with gunfire instead of candlelight, with rations instead of delicacies, with maror instead of honey.
Since October 7th, Yossi Hoffman and his volunteers have not stopped providing our valiant soldiers with much-needed supplies, food items, equipment, and morale for a single moment. Hundreds of barbecue events! Hundreds of thousands of Shabbat meals. Tens of holiday parties from Chanukkah events for the soldiers to Purim seudot at different bases for the soldiers and Passover Seders to name a few.
We ask you to give something you are already giving, nothing more. This year, the Kapparot donations will go to our precious soldiers so they can also enjoy this holiday in whatever fashion they're able. "And you shall rejoice in your festivals and be completely joyful." ושמחת בחגיך והיית אך שמח
