 Over 15 years ago, my dad, Dr. Ilan Halevi, along with his partner, Tali, built their long-anticipated dream into a reality – an independent, natural maternity home where women can give birth on their own terms.

A home which gives any woman the chance to give birth in her own space and under her own terms, in a unique way that differs from systematic hospitals, in a mesmerizing space, a kind of magical ward. This idea arose from Ilan\\\'s ambition of allowing women to choose comfort over stressful environments, and overall, letting them decide where to give birth.

A maternity home which is operated and supervised by Dr. Ilan, an expert in the field of Gynecology and Surgery, a midwife and a Jahrdula, and located just a short drive from the nearest hospital in case of emergencies.

That dream has taken shape, and women from all over the country, from all races and religions, started arriving at the clinic, choosing Ilan to deliver their child on such a meaningful and sacred day. These women chose Dr. Ilan and Tali with great confidence, out of their free will, knowing they will be safe in their warm and loving care.

PLOT TWIST - 

The dream collapsed a few years ago, following the Israeli Ministry of Health\\\'s decision to shut down all natural maternity homes across the country – effectively prohibiting women from giving birth at a place of their choosing.

As part of this shutdown, my dad, Dr. Ilan Halevi, who will forever stand for women\\\'s rights, has been removed from his post at Laniado Hospital, where he worked as a doctor for years, as well as from all HMOs he was working with. His medical license has been suspended, the birth clinic has been court-ordered to shut down, and was barred from his own home (where the clinic is based) for 6 months.

Where is my father now? He is being held in custody at Hadarim correctional institute ever since June awaiting trial, along with rapists, murderers and pedophiles.

My dad is not a criminal.

My dad is fighting a war of principles and ideology which can be discussed greatly, but one thing is for certain - he is NOT a criminal!

This situation has crushed our entire family, and my dad in particular. 

The maternity has been terminated and the house has been declared for sale, and as of now, he has been in custody since June, for a trial over the charges The Israeli Ministry of health is accusing him of, which is months or even years away.

Dr. Ilan Halevi holds a special place in many women\\\'s hearts across Israel, whom he has sacrificed everything for.

For all that our father and our family has been through, we are in dire need of assistance with his prior and future legal expenses and lawyering fees.

We need help with the expenses of his bail in order to release him to house arrest until the trial actually takes place.

We need help with paying our overall fees and bills, which we cannot afford anymore (electricity, mortgage, water bills, insurances etc.).

We ask you for your generosity, help our dad, who after (and if) he is released, has a long road ahead. His tarnished reputation and economic situation will take years of mending to recover.
