I know you are someone who deeply cares about the future and health of the Land of Israel.
Over the last 10 years, the gazelle population has been decimated, from a healthy population of 10,000 to just over 2,000 left today. Without urgent action, in another ten years, the Israeli gazelle will no longer be found in the wild.
Chance encounters with this beautiful creature will be a thing of the past.
The devastation to the gazelle population is a symptom of many issues plaguing Israel’s environment and that we need your help to fight against.
These include:
● construction in key gazelle habitats
● fragmentation of ecological corridors
● poor disposal of waste which supports an unnaturally large number of jackals, feral dogs, wolves and other large carnivores which hunt gazelles
As bulldozers destroy the gazelle’s natural homes they have no choice but to flee. With no safe escape route they normally only have one exit route – straight into traffic.
In a collision between a gazelle and a moving vehicle there is only one outcome …
In spring there may be a second victim. A fawn. Orphaned and fated to starve to death without its mother’s milk to nourish it.
The other threat to gazelles come from super-sized packs of predators, sustained by scavenging on food not properly thrown away by restaurants and homes.
Even the fleetest footed gazelle cannot evade these packs forever when they pick up the scent.
But by donating today you can give the gazelle a fighting chance.
