Northern Goals is working to help provide an immediate response for young children with developmental delays and emotional disturbances to access critical early therapeutic intervention. The children come from low socioeconomic families living in remote areas in the northern periphery of Israel. There is a high proportion of children diagnosed each year in the region and waiting lists to receive help are long. Access to quality specialist services is problematic and often distant.
Whilst the HMOs provide part of the funding, it is not enough to cover the real cost of quality therapeutic services. Funds will create the opportunity for more young children to access services by providing additional fully trained therapists to work with the child and their family, providing a tailored response for each individual. This will reduce waiting times and increase the number of children able to access help. NIS 1,500 will provide an initial package of treatment sessions for one child.
Our aim for Giving Tuesday is to raise NIS 15,000 which will provide a package of therapy sessions for 10 children in the northern periphery of Israel.
