In 2018, after she has mainly focused on being an alternative therapist, Inbar opened "Berry Rose Studio" which aimed to help other people like her - music lovers and song writers in their 40s - to fulfill their aspirations by participating in songwriting, composing and performance workshops led by some of the finest teachers and musicians in Israel: Amir Lev, Eran Tzur, Daniella Spector, Korin Alal.
Inbar also participated in those courses and wrote several songs during them. She became close friends with Amir Lev, and they decided to record a duet together for one of her songs, "the last gift".
The pivotal summer of 2021
While working on the song with Amir Lev, Inbar started suffering severe headaches and collapsed after several weeks. She was rushed to "Sheba" hospital for an emergency operation to drain fluids from her brain. In the scans that were made a sizable tumor was discovered, and it was initially diagnosed as benign. Unfortunately, after her rehab and another major operation to partially remove the tumor it was discovered that it was actually cancerous, a grade 4 of the rare Glioblastoma Multiforme. She had to undergo two months of radiation and chemotherapy and strict monitoring as this cancer rarely responds to standard therapy protocols. Following the treatments she has suffered blurry eye-sight, dizziness, short-term memory loss, anxiety and chronic insomnia.
Throughout this journey, Inbar has explored many types of treatments using her experience as a therapist through friends and colleagues and tries her best to maintain a healthy lifestyle and mental balance facing the constant tension that comes from the life threatening illness.
The Healing power of her music
From the moment she woke up in the hospital (the only things she remembered were lyrics to a few of her old songs) she began writing any chance she had until a full album by the name "Holding Your Heart on High" was formed. Recording this album was a miraculous act in itself. Inbar and her collaborators had to deal with many challenges since she had very limited energy to spend but everyone pulled through to make it possible. The result is a mesmerizing, moving documentation of life and the desire to fulfill oneself.
