The African Refugee Development Center (ARDC) asks you to join in our efforts to fight the planned deportation of thousands of African refugees and asylum-seekers living in Israel. We are reaching out to you for emergency assistance in supporting those in danger of deportation, and those indirectly affected by the policy, namely women and children. These women are a model for us, having undergone arduous and terrible journeys en route to Israel. Most of them carry traumatic memories, and yet they do not give up; they continue for their children. As their voices go unheard, in both media and the public sphere, the asylum seeker women are in a position of helplessness. Let’s bring their voices to the forefront.

Help us say no to deportation! Your support will assist us in highlighting the voices of African asylum-seeking women in our Women’s March (09.03.2018) in honor of International Women’s Day. We will join forces with other organizations, institutions, and individuals to demand an end to the deportation of our husbands, brothers, fathers, sons, and friends. Not only that, your donation will allow us to strengthen our programs and courses designed to promote and empower women, whether through our Women in Business course, our various vocational courses, or even scholarship assistance for continuing their education.

Your donations will be used exclusively for the following purposes:
To assist in our emergency advocacy efforts, namely our Women’s March, to bring women’s voices to the forefront of Israel’s attention.
To support women in our educational and vocational programs so that we might provide diverse options for personal and professional growth for a more dignified existence for African asylum-seeking women in Israel.
Your donations will assist in the following ways:
- Hebrew course for African Asylum Seeker women focusing learning Hebrew (including reading & writing), but also with special attention on motherhood, enhancing their language capacity in assisting their Hebrew-speaking children;
- Women's empowerment through Self-Defense classes in Hebrew;
- Babysitters for courses offered;
- Filling gaps in ARDC's current programming
Thousands of men will receive their deportation notices in the coming months. Don’t let the suffering of women go unnoticed.
The African Refugee Development Center (ARDC) is a grassroots, community-based nonprofit organization that was founded in 2004 by African asylum seekers and Israeli citizens, in order to protect, assist and empower African refugees and asylum seekers in Israel. ARDC promotes leadership and self-sufficiency as well as advocates for a humane and fair Israeli asylum policy.
ARDC staff and volunteers have dedicated years to creating and maintaining a dignified existence for African asylum-seekers in Israel. Now more than ever, our work is under threat.
