SisterSchmooze Plus Thousands of readers know Marcia Meth, Mimi Zakon, and Emmy Leah Zitter through our Mishpacha Magazine/Family First column, SisterSchmooze. Now the Schmoozing Sisters are also the Swimming Sisters. Marcia is coming all the way from Maryland to Israel, and we’re taking on the Kineret Challenge (swimming across the Sea of Galilee) together! We’re the Schmoozing Sisters—and we’re also proud moms and aunts to a great bunch of swimmers. We warmly welcome our daughters/nieces, Devora Rosby and Malka Holtz, to our schmoozing and swimming team! This year we are dedicating our swim, and the merit of supporting Sadnat Shiluv in its incredible work, to our beloved Shlomo Zalman ben Yitzchak Isaac, Dr. Sheldon Meth, z’l, who recently passed away. Sheldon was Marcia’s husband, Mimi and Emmy’s brother-in-law, and Devora and Malka’s uncle. Sheldon was never was afraid of a challenge – whether it was riding the subway for 12 (!) years from Brooklyn to Columbia University, so he could live in a Jewish environment; driving to work more than an hour each way for 42 (!!!) years, for the same reason; creating complex defense systems to protect the U.S. and Israel; or facing years of daunting medical challenges with courage and resilience. He inspired us all. Sheldon, we miss you. We’re challenging ourselves by crossing the Kineret to help special needs young people who face their own challenges every day. Please help us help them by giving generously. Go Team Sister Schmooze Plus!

For the past ten years, hundreds of women from all over gather to Swim the Kinneret and challenge themselves just to help the special kids of Sadnat Shiluv. In Sadnat Shiluv we do not measure the person according to his needs but by his capability of giving. We nurture the seed in each person in creative ways.

The Sadna operates a school for special needs, an employment center with various workplaces such as a kitchen, bakery, goat pen, animal center, coffee shop and more. Besides, there are apartments for people with special needs that are integrated into the community.
With the help of Swim4Sadna, the sadna is able to build many projects, such as an art studio, animal center, sports center and more. This year, with your help Sadnat Shiluv will be able to continue and develop the Yuvalim project- a new inclusive school in the Sadna where kids with special needs learn together with Regular kids.
