Ilay, my boy. A boy with Autism and severe Intellectual Disability, a child for whom we dream of giving a home that will help him live an easier and better life, A life he deserves!.

Sweet Ilay was born a healthy, happy child.

At a very young age he began vomiting and we began our endless visits to every doctor we knew of. There was not a hospital we did not go to. The unanimous opinion was that his stomach muscle were weak and it would work itself out over time. Towards age 11 months we saw that Ilay was starting to lose eye contact. We felt we were fighting a losing battle till, with great luck I managed to make contact with Rabbi Firer who immediately sent us to Professor Baransky, the director of the gastro department at "Hadassah Ein Kerem" Hospital.

After a few simple tests the bad news was delivered. Ilay had significant vitamin deficiency. We were told that it would lead to a brain damage and that Ilay would not grow up to be the child we dreamed of.

As parents we did not give up. We believed in him and have invested in him all we could.

It was the start of a life journey with endless concerns and caring for Ilay's needs in addition to those of our other 4 children who have grown up with Ilay and love him dearly.

Ilay, my boy with autism and severe intellectual mental Disability, does not speak, cannot feel pain, and is fed with a gastrostom (a button attached to the stomach).

He needs supervision 24/7 and assistance in all daily functions.

Unfortunately, we live in a very small house that is not suitable for Ilay’s special needs. He clearly needs wide passages in the house for his wheel chair, a room for his caregiver, rehabilitation equipment, adapted shower and more.

We are turning to you and asking you to help us build Ilay a home that will allow him to maintain his health and wellbeing. Please help us help our son.

We believe that with your help we can all give Ilay the life he deserves.
